- The project is fully underway with work taking place at more than six different locations throughout the 4.4-mile project area in fall 2018. This includes roadway widening along the two-mile PA I-95 approach to the Scudder Falls Bridge and work at the interchanges immediately flanking the bridge.
- NJ abutment and piers for first (upstream) span of new bridge are completed; installation of primary steel girders on NJ side are completed. All piers have been completed on the PA side; primary steel girders now being installed on PA. This work can be noise sensitive.
- Cofferdams and trestle causeway removal on PA side where achievable.
- Noise-sensite work is permitted until 11 p.m. (formerly 2 a.m.).
- The first span of the new bridge is expected to open to traffic -- with all-electronic toll collection (E-ZPass and toll billing by mail) -- in 2019.
- The project currently is on schedule for total completion in late 2021.
